ChristNet
ChristNet Services Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn FPCD has long supported the ChristNet Services program as one of its vital ministries to the metro Detroit area. ChristNet provides shelter, meals, and transitional housing and employment services to our homeless brothers and sisters in the metro area. FPCD has served this ministry in multiple ways over many years—from providing overnight sleeping quarters for homeless guests in the FPCD facility, to meal preparation and delivery to program participants, to clothing and personal care supply donations for distribution through the ChristNet HQ in Taylor.
Although lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and a dip in available volunteers have prevented FPCD from resuming its traditional overnight shelter program, we have continued to support the ministry through meal, clothing, and supply donations. FPCD members and Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church have also provided financial contributions as an additional arm of assistance.
It is possible that the ChristNet program at FPCD will return to its prior format whereby we can host and house guests overnight for one week a year. Preliminary
discussions on that front have begun, and we will continue to engage in that exploration. In the meantime, we will continue to contribute in other ways and
maintain our connection to this wonderful ministry.
